100.3 The Beat & Shorty “The Prince of the City” proudly present the 5th Annual McDonald’s Academic Excellence Award
McDonald’s will be offering 6 one-time scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each to local African-American students who will be graduating this coming Spring. Recipients of the 2008 McDonald’s Academic Excellence Award will be selected by a committee and must meet the following criteria: a completed application with essay, interview, academic performance, references, community involvement and the desire to achieve a higher education.
Each applicant must either be affiliated with the Mathews-Dickey, Jackie Joyner-Kersee or Herbert Hoover Boys’ & Girls’ Club OR be willing to do 20 hours of community service at one of the clubs.

The fourth annual McDonald's Academic Excellence Award was presented to six St. Louis/Metro East high school seniors during a recognition ceremony at the Ronald McDonald House in the Central West End. The United Negro College Fund of St. Louis and McDonald's St. Louis/Metro East administered six one-time scholarships in the amount of $2,500, which were awarded to each student's university of choice.
The 2007 McDonald’s Academic Excellence Award recipients are:
